A Special Sunday

A couple weeks ago Gwen participated in her first Primary Program. We had been looking forward to it for weeks and made sure we practiced her line often. It did not disappoint. It was so darn cute- I was in tears the whole time because motherhood has turned me into a sap.

When it was Gwen's turn to talk, she stood up to the microphone and looked out into the congregation. She didn't say anything at first and I was nervous for a moment that she forgot her line. But then she started by saying, "Remembering Jesus.." (another looonnnggg pause) "...helps me choose the right." I was relieved that she didn't forget her words- she worked so hard to memorize it. I think she was just taking her time up there to savor the moment. She really seems to enjoy being in front of an audience.

Gwen was also excited that Andy and Jessica came with Charlie. They were so sweet to support her on her big day!

After church we went to Grandma and Grandpa Bean's house for dinner. I tried to get a photo of the girls in their church dresses, but wasn't getting a lot of cooperation...

Gwen enjoyed a quiet moment with Grandpa while he read her the comics...

Meanwhile, Fiona enjoyed some cuddle time with Whitney, who by the way has awesome eyelashes...

After dinner, Gwen went to the bathroom and came up with Grandma's hairbrushes. She set up her little beauty parlor and made everybody get their hair fixed...

Uncle Andy wasn't cooperating as well. First he covered his head with his shirt...

Then he took off his shirt altogether and told her to comb his back hair. He got his shirt mostly back on before I could get my camera back out...

He finally relented and let her comb his precious locks...

Fiona and Grandpa...

We are so lucky to have so many family members close by. We love Sunday dinners!
