Gwen loves camping like nobody's business. We felt bad that we never had the opportunity to take her camping this summer. To make up for it, we did a little indoor camping on the evening of her birthday. We ate hotdogs, watermelon and microwave smores.
Gwen loved her Thomas Boo Boo Buddy
Gwen was also very excited for her goggles
We copied my good friend Lisa (she always has great ideas) and got Gwen this little storage cube to use as a nightstand.
Her "grand finale" gift: a scooter with protective gear. I think she likes the gear better than the scooter.
Even though it was past her bedtime, we took her out to try the scooter. She rode it for a bit...
Then she insisted that it was "more better" to just sit on it while dad pushed her...
It wasn't long before she ditched the scooter altogether and just wanted to run around in her protective gear. She said that she could run as fast as she wanted because it wouldn't hurt if she fell.
To be exact...there wasn't any cake at all that day. Gwen was so full from her dinner and her smore that she didn't want any cake. (Which was techically blueberry muffins with cream cheese frosting thanks to some smooth talking by mom. Shhhh, don't tell her.)
We didn't end up having her "cake" until the next day. Nothing wrong with stretching out a birthday over several days.
I'm actually not quite sure how she ended up practically naked for this photo. I think she is officially far too old to be in topless photos on the Internet.
Stayed tuned for stats on her weight and height as well as a few sentimental babblings about how it can't possibly be true that she is already four.

Sometimes camping at home is the best kind of camping! We did that in our backyard a couple of times this summer, the fridge was close, the bathroom was right there! That's the kind of camping I like!
