The Card

I bought Gwen's Christmas dress last year on clearance. It didn't realize at the time how strong my urge would be to coordinate my girls. I didn't buy anything for what was then my future baby.

However, as December approached, I realized that I absolutely couldn't put Fiona in Gwen's old Christmas dress. It didn't match. Thus my quest began to find Fiona a dress that would go with Gwen's black and ivory (that's right, ivory, not white) dress.

Over the next few weeks I stopped in every store that came to mind. I almost gave up, but then one day I found myself at Hannah Anderson. There was a simple black velvet dress- and on sale too! To make the ensemble complete, I went to JoAnn's and bought some ivory fabric and made a sash for the waist. I also picked up some black ribbon and black elastic for a cute little headband.

Still feeling crafty (it was kindly pointed out to me that my urge to create things is proof that I'm getting old), I went to Michael's. Later, I turned some wood letters, shimmery paper, and modge podge into cute props for our Christmas card.

Even with fancy letters and frilly dress, my favorite part of this card are the two sweet girls that are truly my definition of joy.
