Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with my parent's and Sarah, Matt, and their kids. We did the usual. Ate lots of food, played with the kids....oh, and fell asleep in weird positions. You know, the usual.

We did a little nativity program and Gwen was thrilled to be Mary. She had the tiny Baby Jesus from her toy nativity in her shirt all day.

Andrew and Rick were excellent in their roles of Joseph and Donkey.

The birthing of Jesus was a little graphic.

He seemed so tiny on the floor in his miniscule manger. I don't remember Jesus being premature. Then again, I'm not exactly a scriptural scholar.

The rest of the family played convincing sheperds, angels, and wise men.

We even sang a bit. It was nice.

Afterwards the kids opened one present each. Gwen got one of those pin-things. Really I have no idea what to call it.

Fiona and her ever-present tongue got a sleep sack.

Juice, cookies, and a note were left for Santa after we got home and got ready for bed.

Gwen wasn't quite ready to give up her role of Mary, as witnessed when we went to check on her before we went to bed.

Maybe I'm biased, but she is one sweet Mary.

I cannot confirm or deny that I saw the picture of Matt "praying".
