McDonald's used to taste so delicious to me. But, we didn't eat out much growing up and it was reserved for very special occasions. These days I find it unappetizing and a total last resort.
And why is it that children never want to take naps? I never wanted to, but now that I'm a mom, I would pay a lot of money just to get an hour of shut eye in the middle of a day. I've actually hired babysitters for the sole purpose of trying to get some sleep. Hasn't actually worked out, but I've tried.
Gwen loves to help around the house. Doing the dishes with daddy is a special treat and she always begs me to have a turn with the Shark Sweeper. We finally decided to start having her do actual chores on Saturdays with the promise of a quarter for everything she does. She actually likes the chores more than they money, so it isn't really necessary as a motivator. I think the majority of the time we forget to pay her.
This past July we even let Gwen have a go at cleaning the toilets. I figure we might as well let her do now while she still wants to, because someday she will decide that it isn't what she once thought it was.

Look at the second photo. Gwen's face is saying, "How long do I have to stand here and clean this thing, I really have to pee?" or "Whatever I did to deserve this, I am very, very sorry." or "Can I stop now, Mom, I don't want a quarter."
