Gwen was really excited about the 4
th of July. Except for she kept leaving off the "4
th of" part and kept calling it "July". Our neighborhood was having a cute little parade for the kids, so a week or so leading up to it, we went to Michael's and bought some "July" decorations. After that, whenever Gwen saw something that resembled the American flag or was red, white and blue, she would say, "Look Mom-July!"
To prepare for the parade. Gwen put on some cute "July" clothes and we decorated her trike. Rick also hooked up his
ipod to the back so Gwen could blast some patriotic music while she rode. She loves Neil Diamond's
America, so she was really excited.

We invited all my side and Rick's side of the family to celebrate with us. Once Bob and Cathy arrived, Cathy admired Fiona while we finished getting ready for the parade.

Our cul-de-sac was the starting point of the parade. Convenient!

Here we go!
Gwen felt like hot stuff while rocking to Neil Diamond
Sarah and Matt's kids joined us for the parade too. Andrew is pictured below. I think Jared and Eric were too quick for us.

I don't know who enjoyed the parade more- me or Gwen. It was really, really cute and fun. I hope this becomes a neighborhood tradition!

What a fun neighborhood! You're so creative.
I take it you still didn't get the pics I sent? LOVE the bike. Gwen looked very serious sitting on it in the house.
