Blueberry Pickin'

This past weekend, I hosted a baby shower for my sister, followed by a joint birthday party for Jared, my dad, and Gwen. My family tries to get together once a month to celebrate all the birthdays. It is so fun! Mike, Audra, Isaak, and Maggie came up from Vancouver to participate in the festivities and stayed with us.

The morning of the shower, I wanted the kids out of my hair, so Mike and Rick took Gwen and Maggie blueberry picking. They had a fabulous time!

Gwen and Maggie seemed to be doing a lot more eating than actual collecting. Rick says they kept saying, "One for the bucket, one for my mouth." Rick tried to convince Gwen not to eat the berries, but it was hopeless. Rick ended up having the cashier add on a half pound to the total bill, knowing that Gwen ate more than her fair share in the field.

This was Gwen's first opportunity to go berry picking. I'm looking forward to trying it out next summer!
