Easter Weekend

Gwen is at the perfect age for really enjoying Easter. She is old enough to really have fun on an Easter egg hunt, but not so old that she gets really competitive about it.

On Saturday I took her to the neighborhood Easter Egg hunt. We barely got there in time, and as I was putting Gwen's jacket on, the hunt started. I wasn't worried about it, thinking that surely there was still time to zip up her coat. I looked up and realized that the kids were going nuts. It was like Walmart on the day after Thanksgiving. I told Gwen to hurry and she was able to get 5 or 6 eggs before they were all gone. The while thing probably took 10 seconds. Luckily, Gwen was perfectly content with what she got. She immediately wanted to open all of her eggs to see what was inside (and eat all of the contents!) She was quite put out that I stopped her to take a photo. On Easter morning, Gwen searched for the basket that the Easter bunny hid for her. She was able to find it with pretty vague clues.

That silly Easter Bunny hid her basket in the washing machine

Gwen got stickers, hair bows, moon sand, sidewalk chalk, and a little bit of candy

Gwen insisted on trying out ALL the hair bows
After Gwen ate chocolate for breakfast, I had to balance it out with some fruit skewers

After church, we headed to Grandma & Grandpa Bean's house for dinner, egg decorating, and another egg hunt. Gwen had a great time!
