Easter Eve

I vote that Easter always falls on Conference weekend, because it was just awesome. We kicked off Easter/Conference weekend with a waffle breakfast while watching conference.

After conference we walked (while Gwen skipped) down to the park for the neighborhood egg hunt...

Fiona kept warm in her stroller- it was freezing out!
After Gwen got her desired number of eggs, she sat on a bench and surveyed the contents. I kept pointing out the dozens of eggs that remained in the field and she didn't want anymore. Gwen is anything but greedy (most of the time). It's just one of the millions of things I love about her.
Back at home, a snapped a few pics of the girls because they are so darn adorable.

We colored eggs as we watched the afternoon session of Conference. Once Gwen realized that we couldn't keep the eggs forever, she became a little sad. We decided to do a few hollowed out eggs so that we had a few keepsakes. It was so fun! Blowing out the eggs is a little tough ,but it was worth it. This might become a family tradition.

As Rick was getting ready for Priesthood Session that evening, I felt a little envious that he had something to do with them men while us girls were stuck at home. I realized that we didn't have to stay home either. I quickly grabbed a few things, got my girls, and we headed for the temple.
It was so quiet and peaceful (and rainy) there. It was awesome to wander the grounds with the girls and talk to them about the time Daddy and I were married there.
After the temple we went to Deseret Book for ladies night. I got a few door prizes and won a raffle (boo yah!) Gwen loved reading books, playing with the kids, and eating cookies. Fiona loved looking cute and eating cheerios. I also bought an Easter book for the girls, which was one of my main purposes in going.
I got my girls home late, but it was definitely worth it. It looks like I've created another tradition! Sadly, I didn't have my camera with me!

Before bed, we left out carrots and cabbage for the Easter Bunny!

The fun-filled day definitely wore Gwen out. She slept well that night!

You don't boil the eggs before dying them? Looks like a great Easter! Those waffles look yummy.

I'll have to keep the bookstore thing in mind for next year. Sounds fun!
