The worse part was finding an antibiotic that worked well for her. We switched meds a couple of times, and finally the third one seemed to work alright. (At least Gwen could keep it down without vomitting) We were so grateful to find something that worked, because the doctor said that if the last one didn't work, the only other option would be to take Gwen to urgent care everyday for TEN days to get a shot. That would have been unspeakably horrible for her.
I was surprised at how sleepy and fatigued Gwen was during her illness. She took long naps almost everyday, which was something I definitely wasn't used to- she gave up naps before she was three.
Even when Gwen had a burst of energy and would play, she still didn't look quite right in her eyes...
And when she was asleep, I check on her a LOT. I was so worried about her, especially when her fever was high and she was difficult to rouse.
