St George- Part Six: Four-Wheeling Frenzy

The biggest adrenaline rush of our trip was our four-wheeling adventure! On Saturday after the baptism, I put Gwen down for a nap and Laura graciously offered to stay home while Gwen and Tanner slept. Rick and I took off with Tom, Ryan and Rebekah and headed down to Grandpa Harry’s corral where he has several 4-wheelers and a Rhino (kinda like a 4-wheeler, but with a top on it). I was a little nervous at first, and I was seriously only going 10 miles an hour. I just kept driving up and down the same little path and going slowly over the jumps. Rick’s brothers did some more exploring and eventually led us down the main road and over towards the mountains where there were some awesome trails, jumps galore, and a road that led to the top of the mountain. I eventually caught the 4-wheeling fever and got much more daring.

At one point, Kirk was on a 4-wheeler, Rick and I shared one (we took turns driving), and Bob was in a Rhino. We followed each other around and eventually decided to drive all the way up the mountain. Rick got in the Rhino with his Dad, and I was on my own. This allowed me to be a little more daring than Rick would have liked, and I got my 4-wheeler up to 55 miles an hour. Looking back, that wasn’t a great idea, but it sure was fun! Once we got to the top of the mountain, we stopped to take some pictures. The guys noticed something on my teeth. Apparently laughing the entire time you are driving gets a little bit of dirt in your mouth (and on your teeth). Actually, but the end of the day, I was covered with dust from head to toe. I didn’t realize that 4-wheeling was such dirty business!

Laura called us when Gwen woke up and we ran home and got her. We took her back to the corral and let her ride with us on a 4-wheeler and a Rhino going very slowly, basically just in the parking lot. She loved it! We also fed some of the horses on Grandpa’s property. She loved that too!

Rick took this while I was driving!

Apparently you should keep your mouth closed when 4-wheeling

We (MG & I) have loved reading the posts about your vacation and seeing all the pics. I'm also a huge 4-wheelin' fan....love it! That's what I miss most about Easter in the NW. All the fam in Utah goes camping and 4-wheelin.

It looks like your trip was a blast. The picture of your teeth after riding is PRICELESS!
