Our Second Valentines Day: 2/14/01

Our second Valentines Day we spent together was about 3 months after we were married. Apparently it doesn't take long to turn into an old boring married couple because that night we stayed home and watched TV.

Ok, to be completely fair, Rick took me to lunch at a nice restaurant on campus. For dinner, we really wanted to stay home because we finally had cable installed that day and we couldn't wait to get our hands on the remote. So that night, we cuddled on the couch and channel surfed until our fingers hurt.

Between all the TV watching, we did find time to exchange gifts. Rick scored huge on thoughtfulness and creativity. To this day, there have been few presents that have lived up to this one.

So, I had been really wanting a baseball glove, but Rick didn't think that it was romantic enough on it's own. So, he bought be a big chocolate heart and put it in the glove. With it, there was a card with a cartoon that he drew. It was a picture of Rick and I playing catch with a heart (I was wearing my new glove, of course), and the caption said "You've caught my heart forever".

I don't think there is a man on earth sweeter than my husband!
