Build-A-Bear

Gwen was invited to Olivia's birthday party just a few days before Christmas. Gwen and I were stranded at home while Rick was at work with our only car that can get around in the snow. Chad and Kedra were so nice to come and chauffeur us around for the party.

I've been wanting to take Gwen to Build-a-Bear for a long time, and I'm so glad we didn't miss this. It was so stinkin' cute.

First the kids chose an animal and waited for their turn to press the little foot pedal that activates the stuffing machine...

Next, they choose a heart for their animals, put it in, and then helped sew them up.

Then, they "washed" their animals, used pretend blow-driers for their fur, and then brushed them.

Last, it was time to fill out the paperwork to give our animals a birth certificate. Gwen named hers "Holly Moose".

Gwen loves her new moose. We couldn't resist buying him some slippers and a collar.

All of the cuties with their new stuffed animals. They were too excited to hold still...

My daughter is 17, and she just went to Build a Bear for the first time. With her boyfriend when they went to Disneyland. It's such a neat idea.

I love how the kids are all so expressive in the shots where they're watching their bear being stuffed.
