Fiona's Blessing Day

Fiona's blessing day was such a sweet and special day for us. It reminded me of how blessed I am to be the Mom of not one, but two lovely daughters. To top it off, I have Rick who much better than I deserve.

We felt so blessed to have so many members of our extended family there to support us. We also had many special friends there who are like family to us. I'm sure the members of our ward appreciated not having anyplace to sit due to the Bean Invasion.

Fiona, of course, was the star of the day and looked like a princess in her dress. (Ok, it kinda looked like it was strangling her, but it looked cute when I bought it online.) I also did my best to ignore the rash/acne that was covering her face, neck, and chest. She is still completely adorable. My favorite part of her ensemble was the sweet bracelet that Emily made her.

The dress came with a cute little bonnet that Rick didn't like. He refused to grant me permission to let her wear it. Rick never forbids me to do anything, so his dislike for this bonnet must have been severe. He did let me try it on her for a moment and she seemed to share his opinion for it.

I still think she looked sweet in it.

After the blessing, we had our family over to our house for a late lunch. We served bbq pork sandwiches, bbq ranch salad, fruit, pina colada punch, and a chocolate trifle for dessert. By the way, we would have never been able to pull any of this off without the help of our parents, Sarah, and Andy and Jessica.

Do you think the number of photos I took of the food says something about me?

Everybody said that the food was delicious. I wouldn't know because I was off of dairy at the time for Fiona's "allergies". Actually, I could eat the sandwiches and the fruit and they were both tasty.

We also prepared a slide show with pictures of cute little Fiona. We had that playing the whole time while our guests ate and mingled.

After the open house, my family hung out for a bit. Since Mike and Audra came all the way from Vancouver, they figured they might as well stay a while longer to make it worth their while. We definitely don't see them often enough.

I should mention that Audra was awesome and took tons of pictures with her fancy shmancy camera, so the most of them I have posted here were taken by her. Sarah also took a bunch, but I'm too lazy to pull them off my blog.

Since everybody was together, Audra put together an impromptu photo shoot with the cousins on the Jensen side.
