Rick and I had an amazing opportunity to go to the BYU vs. UW game last weekend. Our friends, the Harman's, also BYU Alumni invited us to join them. We jumped at the chance and had an amazing time. Sometimes I really miss my BYU days, so it was really fun to spend the afternoon cheering our team and reliving the past.
We met the Harman's at a park and ride and rode to the stadium together. While we were driving, we noticed a cop cars behind us. We pulled over and realized that they were escorting the BYU team buses. It was fun to honk and wave at the team as they drove past us. Dan immediately got right behind the buses and we followed them for a while. Whenever we drove by BYU fans, we would honk, wave, and cheer. People were already getting pumped for the game.
We first hit the BYU tailgate party and ate some great food, socialized, and got psyched for the game. Of course, we took pictures...
Me and my good friend, TeriAnne. Only the coolest people have two names. Notice my Cougar blue nail polish.
Rick climbed up to the bleachers to get a shot of the BYU fans and the lovely top of the porta-potties.
After a some time at the party, we hurried to the stadium. We didn't want to miss anything. We did stop long enough to take a group photo at the bottom of the stadium steps.

Another shot while waiting for the game to start
After
BYU warmed up, they returned to the locker room. Rick and Dan ran down to the bottom of section to get a closer look. They got high-fives from almost the entire team as they ran into the tunnel . All of the other photos Rick got of this awesome moment were of the ground.
As the game began, there was definitely excitement in the air (as well as helicopters)

When BYU came out onto the field, there were some definite "boos" from the Husky fans. We happened to be in the very back row of the BYU section. With Husky fans right behind us, we endured lots of "boos" and plenty of smack talk. But, we were good natured about it and it seemed to die down once UW started loosing. :)

TeriAnne and Dan brought John with them. He was an angel.
To make the day even better, BYU won the game. It was very close (27 to 28), so it was a nail biter the whole time. There was a controversial call near the end of the game where UW was penalized for excessive celebration, which made it all more exciting. Here is a photo of us celebrating our victory...

After the game, we waited out by the buses to see the team as they came out. Of course, I had no idea who anybody was.

Austin Collie- wide receiver. Rick had to tell me this
I don't know who these guys are, but I figured that if they were being asked for autographs, they must be important. It was sweet that the team members took time to talk their young fans.

TeriAnne and I wanted to photo of this guy because we thought he was cute
Fui Vakapuna- Full Back. Rick says he's awesome.

Dennis Pitta- Tight End. As I'm writing this, Rick tells me he's leading the nation in reception yards.
Eventually, we came back to reality and headed home. Thanks to the Harman's for a day I will never forget, and thanks to my parents for taking such great care of Gwen so that we could go.
GO COUGARS!!!
