Halloween Night

Yes, I'm still blogging about Halloween. Blogging 4 months after the fact is just how we roll around here.

On Halloween we brought cupcakes to our neighbors (and saved a few for us!) Thanks Kristen W. for the idea!

Speaking of stealing ideas, we dined on Mr. Bones for dinner. My dear friend, Lisa was the inspiration on this one...

I must say, ham, bread sticks, roasted yams, and fresh fruits and veggies taste much better when they are shaped into a skeleton.
After dinner, I took the girl's trick-or-treating while Rick handed out candy. Of course, we had to take a few more pictures before we left...

Fiona got the hang of trick-or-treating right away. We only went to a few houses, but she loved it!

There was something Fiona loved more than trick-or-treating: trick-or-treaters. Once we got home, Fiona planted herself by the front door for the rest of night. Every time the door bell rang, she got so excited! The poor thing wasn't very happy when it was time for bed.

Halloween Eve

We spent the day on Halloween Eve getting ready for the big day. We carved pumpkins (which Fiona LOVED)...

We dined on Frankenberry and Count Chocula (the Boo Berry was already eaten)...

We decorated cookies...

I think Rick wins the award for tallest cookie...

And we patiently waited until dark so we could fully enjoy our pumpkins...

Rick's was definitely the best...

More Halloween Fun

I brought the girls to Rick's work to pass out candy for Halloween. (Ok, really it was so show them off.)

Gwen insisted on more pictures before we left...

The girls were so cute and everybody loved getting candy from them....although many tried to give them candy too. Fiona loved giving candy to people and would pick favorites. She would keep bringing piece after piece to the same people.

Rick loves it when the girls visit him at work.

Afterwards, we went to our ward Halloween party/Chili Cook-Off/Trunk-or-Treat.
Bee Keeper, Bumble Bee, Butterly, and Butterly Catcher

Have I mentioned that I love Halloween?

Cute as a Bug

I love Halloween. I mean, really love it. I love costumes, I love being scared, and I love candy. I don't have to rush around town buying a bunch of presents and the decorating is pretty low-pressure.

Planning out costumes to only wear once seems like a waste to me, so we like to wear them every chance we get.

The first opportunity Gwen had to wear her costume was for a little class she takes at the rec center. Since they play outside, we layered it with a leotard and some leggings. In case you can't tell, she's a butterfly...

I really wanted to make her costume, but we just moved, so I cut myself some slack. I did, however, make her headband so that I wouldn't feel like a complete loser. In all honestly, I couldn't have made anything this cute anyway.
She is hands down the cutest little butterfly I've even seen!

Harvest Festival

I'm Still 3 months behind on my blog! Someday I'll catch up....

In early October, we went to some harvest festival thing. Apparently so did everybody else in Douglas County. It was crowded!

Gwen got in free if she wore her Halloween costume. We hadn't gotten it yet, so we went through our dress up box and came up with some leprechaun stuff....

Oh man, did I really forget to rotate this picture?

We spent the most of the morning waiting in line for a pony ride. Gwen loves ponies, but the line was crazy!

Gwen also played "Pin the Face on the Pumpkin"

Fiona's favorite part was the music...

Enjoying a hayride back to the car...

Trick-or-Treating at Fargos

The day before Halloween was a fun one for Gwen. The morning was spent at preschool for "Black and White" day. She was very excited to pick out her outfit...

While Gwen was at preschool, I got Fiona ready to go trick-or-treating at Rick's work. If you don't recall, she was going as Kryptonite...

After preschool, I picked Gwen up, got her in her costume, and headed down to Fargos.

Supergirl, Lois Lane, and Kyrptonite

Gwen's favorite part was getting candy from everybody...

Rick's favorite part was showing off the girls...

The candy gave Gwen super-fuel so that she could run down the hallway and show everybody how she flies...
Gwen liked hanging around in Daddy's office...

...but she preferred the view from the conference room.
In the meantime, Fiona just liked laying around...

At the end of our day, Daddy read Gwen a book, then it was time to go!
