Leaf Raking

Seattle definitely beats Denver in a few areas....lush green trees, a gorgeous coast, and our extended family is there too, which makes it highly desirable. But, Colorado has a few things on Seattle...for one thing, leaves.

Raking leaves in Seattle is not a lot of fun. The are wet and mushy and getting them off the lawn is a pain. Raking leaves in Denver, on the other hand, should be declared a national holiday!

We had so much fun raking leaves that we did our lawn and our neighbors lawn. By the time we were done, half of the neighbor kids had joined us.

Pretty soon, the kids formed a line and took turns jumping into the leaves...

Getting buried

One last hurrah before bagging up the leaves...

One thing that a picture can't capture is the smell. The scent of crisp autumn leaves is just divine! I'm thinking about planting a few more trees in the near future to give us a few more leaves to rake. Ok, not really. Well, maybe.

You're so funny, Anna Marie! Oh the things you Seattleites were deprived of. :)
