Outdoor Fun

This summer we had a few scorchers in Seattle. One day was so hot that we decided to stay in the backyard the entire day with the pools filled. Whenever we got too hot, we would dip ourselves in the pool to cool down. By the way, it was an itty-bitty baby pool, so whenever I got in, most of the water overflowed into the grass.

We also spent lots of time this summer in the front yard playing in the water. Sometimes I would fill up both baby pools, the water table, and turn on the sprinkler...just to keep them interested.

My attempts to keep Fiona interested in the water toys were usually in vain. She usually ended up in the bark, a pile of rocks, or in the driveway.

She also loved playing on the front porch with her snow cone stained lips.

Side note....a neighbor girl, Taylor was creating quite the business selling snow cones. We were regular customers. She made sure of it, actually. If we weren't outside, she would knock on our door to tell us that she was selling snow cones. She even made punch cards so that could you get a free one after purchasing eight. What an entrepreneur.
P.S... Isn't Fiona's swimsuit darling?
