Somebody is Five!

Gwen turned five just three days before the movers were scheduled to arrive. That didn't stop us from partying big. Five is a big deal! We took a break from moving preparations and spent the day celebrating with our sweetheart.

Gwen came downstairs in the morning and was thrilled to see that we had decorated for her party, which was planned for later in the afternoon.

The decorations were simple: dinosaur cut-outs hanging from the ceiling, and lots of toy dinosaurs on tables, counters, and mantels.

Gwen was even more excited to see her volcano cake. She spent a lot of time perched on top of a chair trying to resist the urge to poke her fingers in it.

At Gwen's request, we went to Frost for breakfast for donuts. Man that place is tasty!

When we got home, we let Gwen open her gifts to help pass time before the party started.

We spoiled Gwen and got her a Ken doll, some Barbie clothes, a Strawberry Shortcake remote control car, a skirt, and a Lite Brite. These fun toys certainly kept her busy while waiting for party time!
