Paternity Leave Fun: Ferry Boats!

Before Rick had to return to work, we wanted to go on one last family outing. We decided to walk on the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry to get some crepes that our SIL, Whitney told us about. We love Ferry Boat rides and were excited to share it with Fiona.

Enjoying the ride

Fiona enjoyed the ride from this vantage point
Gwen had a banana chocolate crepe, but it wasn't long before she turned it to mush.

Confession: I don't like crepes. I really, really, don't like them. But I want to like them, so I eat them at every opportunity. It might have something to do with eating them while having the stomach flu as a child.

Since the first ferry ride was spent outside, Gwen wanted to sit on the cool seats for the return trip. Rick held Fiona (Look Mom, no hands!) and Gwen and I did our best to keep him entertained.

Gwen was attacking me with kisses. I didn't complain.

I was sad too see this fun Saturday come to an end. The following Monday Rick was scheduled to return to work and I was dreading it. I was so great to have him home!

What a fun, fun, day, and you sure lucked out with the weather. It's nice you were able to do this before Rick had to go back to work, but it must have been hard for you to do all that walking around. Thanks for sharing the sweet photos.

I just love paternity leave. Isn't it amazing everything you do with your second child, when you would have been so afraid with your first? I wish I could have been there, I love crepes. Yummy!
