Firefighters

I've mentioned in the past how passionate Gwen is for music. Whenever we are in the car, she demands to listen to music and always knows exactly what song she wants to hear. We finally made a rule that we take turns choosing a song. She doesn't mind this rule and really enjoys announcing who's turn it is to choose the next song. It's not that we mind her song choices; she is choosing from our music. The problem is that sometimes she will choose the same song over and over again. Lately all she wants to hear is "America" by Neil Diamond. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some Neil every now and then, but just not 10 times in a row. She is also prone to choosing Christmas music 12 months out of the year.

Today in the car, we were listening to one of my choices, "Walking After You" by the Foo Fighters. Gwen said that on her turn, she wanted "Walking into the Firefighters." I had no idea what song she was talking about, but she was adament that this was indeed a song. She even was trying to sing it for me to jog my memory. She loves to make up new names for songs, so I knew that it could be just about anything. Curious to know what she was talking about, I started shuffling through my music, playing her the first measure of every song, asking if it was the right song. Eventually, I came back to what we had just listened to, "Walking After You", but the Foo Fighters, and she said, "Yep, that's it!" I told her the correct name of the song and said it was what we were just listening to. She said, "No, this is Walking Into the Firefighters." At least she got "walking" and "fighters" right.

She is just like me: loves music and is never wrong! Oh, and she's completely adorable!

That is so cute! We have a rule in our car: driver controls the stereo. And I always drive. :)

I can just hear her insistent and adamant voice and dialog. She's so smart, animated, and entertaining. Life could not be dull with Gwen around. Give that girlie a hug from me.

Hahahaha!!! That's so funny. I always feel bad for my kids when I'm not translating their language well because they're trying so hard.
