Gobble Gobble!

We enjoyed a quiet little Thanksgiving at home a week after Miles was born. The exclusive guest list included Rick's cousin Susie who lives in Boulder and Rick's parents. Did I mention that they came and stayed with us for two weeks to help? It was awesome!
I love the unpredictable weather in Colorado. After dinner everybody sat on the back patio and played games. Actually, I observed from my comfy spot on the chaise lounge.
Don't you think I got the better end of the deal?

It was so warm that we decided to eat cream cicles while we enjoyed the weather. You know, just a little something to prep us for the pumpkin pie.
The most coveted Thanksgiving activity was getting a turn to hold this little turkey...

Doing Downtown

We enjoyed our annual trip to downtown Seattle to take in the Christmas sights. We started off with the Christmas village & miniature trains at the Seattle Centerhouse.

Next we rode the monorail down to the Sheraton to see the gingerbread house display.

Next we dined on delicious Japanese food at Benihana. Even the girls loved it!

Of course, some of the kids got restless. More than one of us spent time wandering around with wiggly ones...

The favorite part of lunch was ice cream.

Fiona really, really wanted some. Can you tell?

Gwen was sweet and happily shared with her.

It wouldn't be Christmas without a visit to the Four Seasons Olympic Hotel for some festive photos.

Our last stop was at the carousel for a quick ride.

Tired, but happy, we took the monorail back to where our cars were parked.

Fun at the Bean House

After Christmas, we spent a little more time at the Bean house. We exchanged gifts with Andy and Jessica...

Andy loved his shirt...

We also loved just hanging out and relaxing- especially Fiona!

Maltby Cafe

The Christmas season wouldn't be the same without our annual glutton-fest at the Maltby Cafe with the extended Bean family. Fiona, on the other hand, wasn't as thrilled to be there. Being the shy girl that she is, she chose to not to acknowledge those around her and escaped to a happy place.

Gwen is our resident social butterfly and did enough mingling to more than make up for Fiona's tendancy to be bashful. Gwen was especially loving Kirk and Whitney's little baby Brooke who had gotten so big since we last saw her!

Somehow I only managed to get a shot of Kirk ans Whitney with Brooke, although the whole gang was there!

An Afternoon at the Beach with Kirk and Whitney

This post title is very captivating, isn't it? My creative juices are lacking today.

Anyway...we escaped the heat of our house one afternoon and hit the beach. Kirk and Whitney joined us and brought little baby Brooke.

Most pictures had me in it, so we are left with these...

Whitney and Brooke

Later that night we invited Kirk and Whitney over for a little campfire. We put the fire pit right in the middle of our driveway and stayed up till midnight eating smores, laughing, and probably annoying our neighbors. Oh well, we're moving anyway.
We are going to miss Kirk and Whitney....and all of our siblings.

Birch Bay Part Two: The Beach

The weather at Birch Bay this year was perfect hanging on the beach. The girls loved playing in the sand. Here are a few of my favorite beach photos..

Poking geoducks is a favorite activity
Fiona loved standing on the skim board

We made a spider and web for our sandcastle this year

Jason and I went on a sunset walk on the rocks together
