I've always wanted to do a Turkey Trot, but somehow have never gotten around to it. And let's be honest here, I haven't done much running lately, so it might be a while before this dream is fulfilled.
In
lieu of joining in on some of the local runs, we decided to host a little Thanksgiving party for Gwen and the neighborhood girls on Thanksgiving morning.
First, they colored runner's bibs and made drumsticks hats...

Before the big race (which was just 5 houses up and back) they did a little stretching while getting pumped up with some
Eye of the Tiger...

Ready....set....

...Go!

It was freezing, hence opting for a sprint instead of a distance race. Fiona didn't really get the running part...

Speedy Savannah crossed the finish line first!

We finished the party up with some hot cider, ginger snaps, and gumdrop turkeys! Did I mention this whole thing took almost no planning? That's my kind of party!
