Grandparents Rule

We love it when our grandparents come for a visit. But, when more than one come on the same day, it's like a double-dose of heaven.

My mom came over one morning and hung out for a while. We watched a cute movie with Gwen, saw Fiona do a real smile for the first time (at 4 weeks), and ate lunch. As always, we were sad when she had to leave. Isn't my mom a hottie?

After my mom left, we took comfort in the fact that that Grandma and Grandpa Bean were coming over. The great thing about there being two of them was that one of them held Fiona while the other one played with Gwen. That left me with the opportunity to get some stuff done. I even left the house to run a quick 30 minute errand which marks the first time leaving both kids with a "babysitter". It was awesome.
As if they weren't already helpful enough, Bob and Cathy decided to be really useful out in the yard. A few months back we had bought several plants and Lowes. They were sitting out on the patio looking very sad and I wasn't sure if they were even worth planting anymore.
One day Rick looked at them out on the patio and said, "Hey, I have an idea, let's go to Lowes and give them $20 bucks for plants but tell them just to keep the plants since we will just take them home put them on the patio to die." I don't think this is the first time I've bought plants only to let them perish.
Anyway, Cathy couldn't stand seeing our sad plants looking so abandoned in the backyard, so she picked off the dead leaves and had Bob plant them. Grandpa and Gwen had fun planting 3 hostas, 2 strawberry bushes, and 1 watermelon plant. Actually, one strawberry plant was really, really, dead. But, Cathy is the most optimistic person I've ever met and had faith that it might still make it. So, she made Bob plant it. As he walked past me he whispered, "A priesthood blessing wouldn't save this plant."

Cathy and Fiona had fun watching the gardeners at work

We are so blessed to have our grandparents close by. My girls are very loved!

Thank you so much sweetie. We are the ones doubly blessed. The kids are such a joy. My only regret is not living really close to you and Sarah, so I can buzz over whenever you need me. I'd be in heaven.
