A month ago I had the opportunity to meet up with one of my old roommates Amy, who was in town for a little girl's weekend for her mom and sisters.
They were staying downtown, so I met them at the Pink Door in Post Alley, which is a place I've always wanted to try. The food was pretty good, but the view was amazing! I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a place with good ambiance.
Amy and I met our freshman year when we were roommates at Rick's College (now BYU Idaho). She and I were roommates for two years and we had an absolute blast together. She definitely ranks as one of my favorite roommates. I had some pretty good roommates (and a few not so good ones.)
After I graduated from Rick's, I came back the following year to visit Amy and a few friends. That was in 1997, which was the last time I ever saw her. This visit was long overdue.
There are a lot of things I love about Amy. She has a great sense of humor with the perfect touch of sarcasm. She is a ton of fun and had great taste in music. We used to stay up late into the night, taking turns playing each other songs from our music collections.
Amy also had quite the sweet tooth and was always up for a late-night candy run. She taught me how to microwave Snickers and eat it with a fork and knife. She also taught me how to eat Rice Krispy Treats right out of the bowl.
Most of all, I valued Amy for her loyalty. She always stuck by her roommates and didn't hestitate to defend one of us if necessary.
Amy was a great roommate, and a is a great friend. I certainly hope it isn't another 11 years before I see her again! Love you, Amy!

Anna Marie,
I found your blog on Amy's and had to say hello. That is so awesome that Amy came to see you in Seattle. Hope you are doing well, and congratulation on your pregnancy. How exciting. I am pregnant too (with my 5th). Can you believe that, I can't either. Hope you are feeling good. I hope you get this reply because it has been a while since you wrote this post.
