Zoo

I've been trying to think of a clever title for this post for the last 45 seconds. I decided it just wasn't worth the thought I was devoting to it...

Last week, all of the stars were in the correct alignment for a zoo trip. Gwen slept in late, which meant that she probably wouldn't take a nap, and it was actually sunny out. Usually we rush off to the zoo first thing in the morning and rush back so that we don't miss our precious nap time. On this particular day, I decided not to worry about naps for once.

It turned out to be one of those days were I just felt totally and completely happy. Not in a giddy and excited way, but in a, peaceful, serene, content sort of way. We had no schedule to follow or anything else to worry about. We just wandered around the zoo all day long, looking at what interested us, and didn't worry if we missed something. We ended up staying for about 4 hours. I didn't take many pictures during the day, but here are a few...

We had to ride the carousel twice because the first time I made the fatal mistake of not chosing a horse that "flies." I tried to take a photo of us riding together...

Love your zoo pics and I'm proud you actually went to the petting zoo section!

That reminds me of when my sister took Hannah on the carousel at Point Defiance Zoo and she cried the whole time because she had to ride on a slug!

Don't EVER choose the slug. It's just not worth the heartache!

I love having days like that where you just feel like you are not bound to any schedule and you just are relaxed and having fun! That is one of my favorite things about being a stay-at-home mom--being in control of my days and schedules. This is one of the reasons I'm bummed about Aubrie starting Kindgergarten...now I have to conform to school! Enjoy it while you can!

Priceless photos. The one with Gwen on the slide was awesome with her reflection, the goat pic was sweet, and the one of you two up close was the best. You can see a bit of food on Gwen's nose and a dried something-or-other inside. Your nose was not tilted up, and thank goodness for that. xoxox
