Father's Day Fun!

Since we are both from Seattle, everytime there is a holiday or special occasion, Rick and I have to decide which family we are going celebrate with. We used to try and see both when we could, but that made for very un-relaxing holidays. We try to alternate and be as fair as possible, but in the end, people are often disappointed. (I can't say I blame them, we are really fun.)

This Father's day, I asked Rick if he wanted to spend the day with my family or his family. Instead, he chose the unthinkable: to simple stay home. I'm sure it was quite the scandal, but seriously, we had an awesome day.

After morning church, we ate a leisurely lunch and we all took a nap. That was heaven. Later, the sun was shining, so we watched Gwen splash in the pool and blew bubbles.

For dinner, Rick requested Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. They were the best I ever made. I splurged for rib eye steak and it made all the difference.

After dinner, Rick opened a few gifts from us. He pretty much knew every thing he was getting because I'm bad at hiding gifts and Gwen doesn't understand the meaning of a secret.

Here are a few photos from our day (notice Gwen's newly trimmed hair)...

Gwen sure loves her daddy- and I do too! Happy Father's Day, Rick!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Rick. He and Gwen are so photogenic, and the photographer caught some great moments.

Dad finally read the tribute you wrote about him. He really was/is a good father, and he appreciated what you said.

He was yapping about how blogging was just a way to fill time, and a few other things, but after looking at and reading some of the entries, Dad has changed his mind a little. He loved looking at the photos the most.

Anyway, we don't care what he thinks/thought about blogging, WE know it has huge value.
