Stopping Traffic

I was enjoying a becautiful afternoon at the town center with my girl yesterday. When it was time to head home, we returned to our car parked on main street. I was getting the girls loaded when I noticed a woman driving past us. She glanced over at Fiona in my arms and was admiring her cuteness- I mean, who wouldn't? Her eyes then shifted up and made contact with mine. She smiled at me and I smiled back. There was a moment of mutual acknowledgment that my girls are darling.

Then she rear-ended the car in front of her.

They both pulled over, and from what I saw from my vantage point, they quickly decided that no damage was done and they both went on their way.

And I had a good laugh.

Foot in Mouth

Andy and Jessica came to see us the other night. They came in separate cars and Jessica left early to go home.

A few minutes later, Rick was walking past a chair in the kitchen and noticed there was a coat draped over it. He turned to Andy and said, "Jessica forgot her coat."

Andy's response? "That's my coat."

Despite my grumpiness (me, grumpy?), I laughed for the next half hour about it. I don't know why I thought this was so funny, but I couldn't stop laughing. In fact, I'm still laughing now. I had noticed earlier that it looked like a girl jacket, but I wasn't planning on pointing it out. Turns out Rick did this for me.

Luckily Andy is a good sport and didn't seem to mind that we continued to discuss the girliness of the jacket. As the night wore on, we decided that it also somewhat resembled a bus driver's coat. In the end, I think we decided it was a hybrid between the two.
