General Conference

I just love General Conference weekend. We have really tried to make it a fun, festive event that the girls look forward too. I think we are doing a good job so far.

The entire weekend we eat tons of great food. During conference, we play fun conference related games and do things with the girls that allow us to still listen (puzzles, blocks, etc.) It's such a wonderful escape from our every day responsibilities. It almost feels like a holiday!

I started a tradition of taking the girls to the temple and to Deseret book while Rick goes to priesthood session. Apparently the Denver Temple doesn't keep their gates open all the time like Seattle does. It was still nice, though.

At Deseret Book, I let them both pick out a church book to take home.
We watched the last session of conference in our basement for a change of scenery. Rick dozed for a while. Can you tell where Gwen is hiding?

After the last session, we took the girls on a little walk along a trail by the house. They needed to get some serious wiggles out.

The trail is called "Big Dry Creek Trail." I think I know why....

It was fun walking the trail and looking for crickets. Colorado is not in want of crickets, that's for sure. I love listening to them at night!

Rick and I are looking forward to April's conference and hope the girls are too!
